Wooden Nickel Records are very proud to be one of Record store Day's origional members when Record Store day 1 happened back in April of 2008. We were first contacted back in 2007 to give input to a special event that would bring some much needed attention to independant music retail stores. Record Store Day, which is always held on the third Saturday in April, has grown each year and become a major success, with the biggest benefit in our opinion the main reason that vinyl has mad such a comeback the last few years! For Wooden Nickel Records, this day has become our community day as we have hosted dozens of Fort Wayne's greatest artists and bands, along with contributions to multiple charities with the sale of our Wooden Nickel T-shirts, along with food trucks, beer gardens and collaberations with neighboring stores on Record Store Day. We would like to thank everyone who has come out to our stores and supported us through the years!
