Alluring Stories, haunting stories, LOL stories-that's what we get when we stroll along with Mean Mary through her new CD, "Walk a Little Ways with Me." From the first notes of her Goodtime banjo we see her sitting in her dilapidated "Big Red Barn" singing and playing her heart out for disinterested ducks and geese and chickens. We're right with her when she finally escapes to the beach where the hunks line up to deliver her long awaited kiss - or is it kisses? Songs later her compelling voice calls to us from a Louisiana club stage where a mysterious woman with a "Rose Tatoo" down her shoulder blade shows up to raise havoc. And when this maestro of eleven instruments takes us on a "Joy" ride, near the CD's end, joy is exactly what we feel. This hypnotizing collection of songs is pure Mean Mary, sparkling, down-home, and lovable.
